Part V - Letters with diagonals

A

The Letter A consists of two diagonal straight lines and an horizontal straight lines.

The 30 deg. pen angle is used for all the strokes.


K

The Letter K consists of a vertical and two diagonal straight lines.

Use a 40 deg pen angle for the vertical line switching to 30 degree for the diagonals.


M

The Letter M consists of four diagonal lines.

Use 45 deg pen angle throughout.


N

The Letter N consists of two vertical lines and one diagonal.

Use 45 deg. Pen angle throughout.


W & V

A certain amount of pen manipulation is required for the letters W and V.

Start with the nib angle at around 40 degrees and then rotate to 30 degrees as shown for the main strokes.

The diagonal line use a pen angle of about 40 degrees.

The V is simply one part of the W as shown.


X

The letter X consists of two diagonals, the thinner one is slightly curved.

Start with 45 deg. Pen angle and change to 30 deg. as shown.


Y

The letter Y consists of two diagonals and a vertical straight line

Use 45 deg. Pen angle.


Z

The Letter Z consists of two horizontal and one diagonal line.

Use 45 deg. Pen angle for the horizontal lines and 30 deg. Pen angle for the diagonal.
