Welcome to The Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation

The Ontario Paper Thorold Foundation offers financial support to various charitable organizations and functions throughout the Niagara, Ontario region.

The Foundation is a trust fund and independent legal entity, not governed by the laws of another company. The Foundation is managed by a Board of Trustees and is ruled by a set of by-laws.

The Foundation’s current association with AbitibiBowater is limited to administrative support, as well as coordination of donations in the region to minimize duplication.

The Foundation organizes its charitable contributions into 4 main categories:

1. Health and Wellness
2. Education
3. Social Services
4. Environment

A 5th category, "Mill Community Fund" is geared toward activities and events run by company employees and retirees. This category is administered outside the CRA mandated charitable contribution level (See Legalese).
